I have 7 cats, 5 of them rescues (1 ex-feral who is now not feral at all  ;) ). Here in Pembrokeshire there are sooooo many stray cats the rescues are full to bursting with adults and kittens, and it's almost impossible to give kittens away. Maybe I should catch 100 or so and bring them up to you? Make a fortune!

I think you come across as very responsible and caring.  Many farmers just let farm  cats 'get on with it'!  If they have kittens, they have kittens, if they die, they die!

Roxy, me and my mum once caught a feral tom to have him checked up on by the vet. I must say that his wee brother was dropped on my mum's doorstep by his dying mum and was easily tamed. He later brought his brother along from somewhere, probably to share the food. Now the vet who was supposed to give him a shot to calm him down was not able to keep hold of the wild boy as he lost all his hair where he was gripped in a oner. He then shot like a rocket up the walls, I've never seen anything like it, bottles flying everywhere...had we been able to film it we'd be a hit on youtube. the vet did not thank us for bringing in a feral  ;D :&> :cat:

our cat snowball got pregnant to a feral - he broke in throught the catflap and after he'd pee'd up all my brand new kitchen units realised he was stuck in as flap was on 'in only' in an attempt to stop in season cat getting out. he then proceeded to smash all the mugs and rip curtains which obviously woke us up. when we tried to get him out of the house he was like devil-cat and we were kitted out in several layers of clothes, oven gloves and all the protective stuff we could find!
in a nutshell, there is NO way I could have caught him to get him to the vet and have his bits chopped (much as I'd love to)
Roxy, I think you are a star, you don't have to care for these cats and kittens but you do it because you are a nice person and they are lucky to have you!! in fact I think word is out in the feline world that your caravan is the best maternity unit in your local area ;0)

I have been trying to get a couple of farm cats (rat control) and as we have a very "houseproud" terrier it has to be a "barn" cat. No luck so far...., but I could go and get a house cat every day, so shortage here too (Sottish Borders)....

I would love another cat, we used to have 7 but they slowly disapeared, the last two had to be put to sleep, a few years apart but we still loved them!!! Now I would love a BIG FLUFFY cat that stays indoors, or a Bengal cat trouble we can see is keeping her out of the guests bedrooms!!!!!! otherwise we would have one at least
