week old lambs with swollen eyes and nose
« on: June 23, 2016, 05:51:57 am »
Got some surprise lambs arrive last week. I've put them out with a few skinnys for feeding in a paddock that two weeks ago was sprayed for thistles and nettles which are long dead and we'll outside of the no grazing period.

The lambs this morning have big swollen eyes which are crusty and their noses are hard and lumpy.

I've given them some betamox and will get an antibiotic eye tube.

Any ideas what caused it? Could it just be they have walked into a dead thistle and it's caused irritation?

Could be a multitude of things, I'd suggest get to a vet asap as if noses and eyes crusting over they may not be able to feed and/or find mum.
