Well pump advice
« on: May 29, 2016, 07:17:28 am »
Hi all,

Just moving into a property that has a well.

Although the house has mains, I would like to find a small cost effective solar(?) pump that can be used for watering the garden / veggies / filling up an IBC.

Ideally it will have some form of cut off if filling tanks and water butts.

Uplift 6m ish

Any ideas / recommendations ?

Thanks

Rob

Not sure if this would work but there are loads of bilge pumps available online cheaply that run off 12V and seem to be able to lift about 5-10m depending on model.

Yeah, I have looked at these, wasn't sure I would get enough lift. 12v battery with a solar trickle charger??

That's what I thought of trying when I was working out how to shift water from a spring-filled holding chamber. But that bit of land fell through so never got to try it.
