has anyone had any luck with getting your seeds going?
we sowed lots in pots but with no joy yet
last year by this time they were going strong.
dont know if the cold weather has held them back from getting of to a good start.
with the amount that flourished last year i had visions for more
ah well

Hi Langdon, don't know what the weather has been like down your way but up here the ground temperature is still low so outdoor sowings have been very slow. (we had a frost here in Glasgow last night) Even sowings in my unheated greenhouse are slowly germinating whereas seeds sown and kept in the house are doing very well. My sweetcorn is still indoors but started on the hardening off today.

ya mine are in the potting shed, thats where i started them of last year.
anyway my father in law is trying them too as we grow our veg together,
so i will just nick some of his!!!!!!!!!

Mine have been in the polytunnel for about three weeks now and are three inches high.They are slower this year but it has been a colder spring.

Ours were sown direct into the bed about a month ago & are up about 1 1/2 inches which surprises me to say the least.

Dunno if they'll come to much tho'

Reading back I meant to say have germinated for three weeks  and 3" high not planted three weeks ago. oops.

I did not expect them all to germinate so I'm awash with sweetcorn this year. Where are you, langdon??

I soaked them in the greenhouse for a day or 2 first and waited until I could see the growing tip before I put them in moist seed trays. I've now transplanted them into bigger pots, waiting for the polytunnel to get covered...

Mine are all up 2 weeks after sowing in the greenhouse - an inch or so only...although if the promised warm spell starts next weekend, everything will go mad!!

Mine have germinated fine in an unheated coldframe in London town. Ones I sowed a month ago came up after about 10 days and are now about 4-6" high.

No sign of mine yet but I am not surprised. Nothing is doing what it should be and too cap it all we had snow showers this morning

we are in tenby south wales.
its funny we had no probs last year in them getting of to a good start.
it gets nice and warm in the potting shed on a good day.
im baffled, but as i said i will just have to nick some of my father in laws if his does any better!!!!

I doubt it, RM takes too long these days.... But - I'll consider it if we don't have the tunnel up next week and nobody wants to swap plants at our meeting/lunch in Guardbridge...

  I bought sweetcorn seedlings in they are out in the grown as they were too much for the pot they where in
