hi all.
i planted radishes out on saturday after growing in pots in the tunnel.i have noticed the lower leaves are turning yellow. is this normal?

I always put my radishes straight in the soil, as they are fast growing and early. Never tried starting them off in pots first!

I don't think late frost matters much in case of radishes, but I must say that I had my early seedbeds covered in fleece (which was more a protection from the cat!!) . In case yours should not respond well to having been transplanted you can easily start again outdoors. The only real danger is slugs for radishes. I've just sown my seconds - having a go at succession this year.

The yellow leaves could mean a lack of water.  Radishes are very hardy and fast growing so plant some more in the ground and you will most likely have radishes coming out of your ears.
