Gratuitous cute lamb pics
« on: March 10, 2016, 11:41:10 am »
Please feel free to post your own, here are some of my first lambs this year.  Apols for apparent fog to the right of the pics; muck on lens, I've cleaned it off now.  ::)

Dad's a Shetland (jaykay's Chad), Mum is 'Dora', 1/2 Shetland (to Chad's great-grandfather, actually), 1/4 Charollais, 1/8 Beltex, 1/16 BFL, 1/16 Swaledale

This year she's had one of each again, a musket katmoget girl (like her Daddy) and a katmoget boy who's currently silvery but I expect will go white.

All without any drama; lambed herself last night, around dusk, lambs up and fed when I checked at 7.30pm.  Fit, full and active this morning - and the wee boy's wee nuts are large enough to snare, which is a bonus!

There is my favourite pic so far, have had 5 ewe lambs go in 6 hours all of which had doubles so that's 17 lambs so far with another 13 to lamb

Lovely!   :D

I had one so pleased with his sheepskin rug, he wouldn't get off even when Mum stood up and walked around!  I only had my phone with me, and no flash, so the pic is truly awful.  So awful that it was suggested I enter it for a Worst Picture competition!   :huff:

However, for what it's worth, here it is (annotated, because you can only see Mum and lambie when you know where they are!  :D  (I think it'll work best if you click on it to maximise it, look at what's in the circles, then click again to minimise - I think you'll 'see' the whole thing then.)
