Hello from Devon
« on: April 27, 2010, 05:20:54 pm »
Hi, I am completely new to this! My husband & I run a small farm in Devon raising rare breed pigs and cattle. We have a few chickens and have just constructed a polytunnel today so we can start to grow all our own veg!! I would love to be completely self-sufficent and one day hope this will come true! We started off with a small veg patch and 2 pigs and have just got bigger and bigger ! Look forward to chatting soon.

Hello and welcome, with a bit of luck, money and hard work you will get there, I only have a few chickens as I run a B&B, funnily enough we were buying a house 4 years ago in Devon but it fell through 2 x, well the selling of our house did, so anyway, we changed our plans as eventualy the house we wanted sold, now we live in Central Scotland and have no regrets, even love the cooler weather!!!

Hello, Scotland is stunning, my husband would love to live there. We are thinking of starting a B&B to earn a few extra pennies! I'm just not sure about having complete strangers in my house!! We only moved to devon in January so we are just finding our feet and getting properly organised now!!

Hi there - yes the fruit and veg are v important and maybe get overlooked a bit as the animals are more exciting! Welcome from another new person to the site, also in Scotland.  :)

Hi and welcome from another Clackmannanite!  I wouldn't like strangers in my home either, but Sandy and Steve thrive on it.  Their house is much more suited to it than mine anyway - can be separate from their guests if they want to be.  I think that is the key - I couldn't do that in my house.
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

Hi and welcome! From rainy Clackmannanshire - hopefully making the grass grow though.

My parents in law had a guest house but their accommodation was completely seperate - a single door between both parts of the house. I'd like a wee caravan site at our new place but Dan's not so keen.
