4 weeks to go.
« on: February 29, 2016, 07:23:10 pm »
I have 3 goats in kid, all due about 4 weeks from now (within 3 days of each other).

I'm amazed how different they appear. My herd queen is due 4 weeks from today. She is such an elegant and regal beast and if I didn't know her due date, know that she hasn't been in season since mated and hadn't felt her kid move feeling her belly I wouldn't think she was pregnant. She looks just the same. Then there is my first time kidder. She is due the day earlier. Her udder is building up nicely, got a bit of a belly on her and can feel movement in her belly. The third is due a day earlier again. She looks like i have blown her up with a bicycle pump! She is practically round! She won't let me anywhere near her belly (doesn't like being stroked anywhere other than her head) so no idea about movement but looks like she is about to pop!

Will be interesting to see what comes of 3 such different appearing pregnancies. Can't wait! :excited:

Keep a close eye on the huge one.
One of mine had triplets on Saturday.
In total more than 25pounds of baby.

Am doing but really hoping she holds on a bit longer, not due for 26 days! My leave is fairly closely planned round that!
Was your girl early?

Mine  are a bit the same first 2 are due the same day, 2 weeks away one is huge sticking out a mile, she was scanned with twins the other is not as big and she scanned with triplets. Both their udders having been getting bigger. The other 2 due in April are slim as anything but there is starting to be udder development. I am starting to get excited, roll on kidding!

I'm looking forward to seeing what sort of babies Arthur and Max produce (with a bit of help). Might give me an idea of what Caldi's will look like.

Not early, possibly one day late.
She had been huffing and puffing and had a slight prolapse ( not external) when laying down for several weeks.
She looks very hollow now.

Their birth weights were 3.2, 3,65 and 4,55  kg so all good sized and doing well.

So a week to go today (give or take of course :innocent: ).

Blossom is huge but still very much her mischievous self. Her appetite doesn't seem affected at all! Sometimes I wonder if she is just fat! Rosie is finally showing  but only really in the last week. Eira is pretty big too and is bagging up nicely. The suspense is killing me but would really like them to hang on to time!

Well the barn is mucked out and the kidding area sparkly clean and fenced off. Kidding kit all ready and on stand by. Less than a week now and 4 more days of work so they need t keep their legs crossed a little longer. I have someone with them during the day till I'm off but there will be significant words if one of them kids early while I'm still in work!

Mine are all out and I am watching them skipping round the field while I type this and drink coffee. So there is fun and relaxation after all the hard work.  Mind you the sheep are due Wednesday onwards......

Best of luck with it all  :relief:
