Milking goats?

Im thinking of starting with 1 or 2 milking goats, has anyone got any advice?

Firstly find someone to show you how to milk! It isn't difficult once you get the hang of it and I always found it a soothing occupation.
I wouldn't say it was something you could learn from a book but you never know!

They are herd animals so do best with company of their own age, ideally two adult goats or more.
As suggested, it would be best to visit someone with goats and see what it entails and they will usually answer lots of questions you may not even think of asking!

very tall fences, some of them can climb trees too.
registered soay, castlemilk moorit  and north ronaldsay sheep, pygmy goats, steinbacher geese, muscovy ducks, various hens, lots of visiting mallards, a naughty border collie, a puss and a couple of guinea pigs

Golden Guernsey goats are very docile. They would make a good start :goat:
