Cock with purple comb :(
« on: February 15, 2016, 03:05:49 pm »
A few days ago our cock seemed quiet. Today the ends of his comb are a purple colour. He seems a little weezy so I've put them on to tylan.

Any one know what it is? Heard the frost can make them go purple?

Any information welcome

I was told that a purple comb meant heart/circulation problems....

Got one too. To be honest, it's often the end of the line.

You may notice the purple comb once or twice more but then simply find him dead.  Only other reason I know of for a purple comb is if two cockerels have been fighting and the comb has been badly bruised.

Well, I expected to find my lad upside down this morning but his comb is bright red and he's bouncing around again. I think he's been challenged by the blue araucana for top dog status. Looks like they have sorted it one way or another.
