Salt licks- how old should lambs be?
« on: January 27, 2016, 11:01:04 pm »
Have used salt licks (Himalayan and tubby fro but) last year to treat and control orf when our tame lambs had gone outside. Just wondered if anyone knows what age they can start using salt licks? Got a few young lambs in now just about to go on the shepherdess and wondered when is safe to put a salt lick in- do they have to be a certain age or can they have one in the pen straight away? I can't seem to find anything on the internet about it, thanks

We have them out in the field at lambing time so theoretically lambs of all ages can get at them........
