You can calculate it for yourself S&P. Myson do an on-line calculator and I'm sure there are others.


The electric boiler I looked at was single phase and only big enough for a large flat, so about 10KW.

I fitted a small unit in a single bedroom property I own.  One rad upstairs about 3 foot wide and a 5 foot downstairs about 3/4 height of a normal rad.

The unit itself is a rectangle box about 2.5 x 2.5 x 30 inch - I am taking a guess but think it was about 3kw which is the maximum load you can place on a ringmain with a standard plug in the UK (I think).

Judging by the mold left by most tenants - its too expensive to have on - one tenant said it was costing him around 40p an hour.

In this day and age - your better off having an oil powered aga put back in or even use a multi-fuel aga with rads fitted :)

You say that Baz, but when I went into an Aga shop recently (not seriously, I must add), I was told that these days, their best selling models are actually electric!
