I am thinking about buying this small outdoor feed hopper from Screwfix (who knew they did rural supplies?) but am mystified as it is listed as a drinker. Are there drinkers that look like this?

Definitely a feeder
Our holding has Anglo Nubian and British Toggenburg goats, Gotland sheep, Franconian Geese, Blue Swedish ducks, a whole load of mongrel hens and two semi-feral children.

I've bought many poultry things from screw fix, would recommend, great service
pygmy goats, gsd, border collie, scots dumpys, cochins, araucanas, shetland ducks and geese,  marrans, and pea fowl in a pear tree.

I think they are drinkers, as you can see where they twist together at the bottom.  A feeder would have a mesh gap to allow the food through.

I think I will ask if I can get one ordered on approval. They're very close to my work so not out of my way. Thank you everyone

Izzy,  Don't worry about the approval - just order it.  Screwfix don't quibble with returns anyway.

I'm with you, I think it's a feeder. Why else would it have a 'rolled lip to minimize wastage', and a big hat on top to stop the er, water from getting wet?  Edit: also, if you look at the actual drinkers, they're a different design and have clips to hold the lid onto the base.

Yup, we have a dozen of them and they work very well and last indefinitely.

It clearly states in the listing 'Traditional, hot dip galvanised feeder with rain cover and carry handle' and 'Adjustable Height Regulates Flow of Food', therefore it is a mistake.

I would say it's a drinker, I used to have one just like it many years ago, before plastic ones were available.
