Bit of an update.

Lots going on with our smallholding.
1. Granted planning last year for a new hay barn single story pitched roof planners insisted on a metal roof uggg as all the other buildings are slate. In the summer I had a serious accident rolled my small tractor, airlifted to hospital nearly died. I decided that I might as well turn my accident to my advantage and applied to amend my planning permission to go for a much taller building as I possibly might need a bigger tractor for safety. I have now got planning permission for the building to be 2m taller and no metal roof so I can have slate if I want :-) The bigger building will be built as a cruck frame hay bellow and probably an office above eventually.
The building size is 12m long 5m wide and 6m high so all in all a good size.
2. Final got our water tested after instilling a boar borehole test came back all clear ;-)
3. Our barn is tiny 190m cubed. We found a guideline for our local authority that states that rural building that are 250cubic m are classed as small and should be allowed to double in size to make them a normal home.
The local planners are trying to resist this by saying this does not apply to a barn. I have taken on a planning specialist who is so confident we will win at appeal for various reasons is not going to charge me full fee if we loose.
So all in all feeling rather pleased.

Sorry to hear about your accident. It sounds bad but you seem to have bounced back
Life is like a bowl of cherries, mostly yummy but some dodgy bits
