New arrival needs name :)
« on: November 13, 2015, 01:53:36 pm »
My lovely mare Mimosa had a foal on the 11th. A gorgeous little fiery redhead (filly). She seems to be quite a character already, she's going to be a little firecracker for sure! I have waited for this little girl for a long time, and carefully planned the nuptials by the moon to try and ensure I got a girl... I don't know if it was the moon or just by chance but it worked and here she is. Now she needs a name! What's a good name for a strong willed little chestnut?

Here is a link to a photo on FB as I can't seem to upload a photo on here.

Mum went through a protracted phase of referring to this or that as "feisty" which she pronounced "feasty" which I think was once an olde english term for flatulent and appears to now be used when referring to an extremely attractive woman.. how times change.

I know! Her legs go on and on! Her mum is over 16hh and her legs are almost the same length haha. I've just been watching her race around the field with a very worried mum close behind. Warm sunny day here so she is really enjoying life!

Thanks for all the name suggestions!!

I had a look at types of carrot :

  • Yaya
  • Parano
  • Merida
  • Chantenay

Then, ginger Ginger is a flowering plant in the family Zingiberaceae, full name Zingiber officinale Roscoe, so that suggested

  • Zinga
  • Rosca

And other fiery feisty names:

  • Flare
  • Flame
  • Blaze
  • Sorcha (pronounced Sorka or Sor-a-ka)
  • Scorcher
  • Chilli
  • Cayenne
  • Paprika

And names belonging to redheads or related to being a redhead:

  • Titian
  • Ranga
  • Strawberry
  • Foxy
  • Copper
  • Sunset
  • Sunrise
  • Amber
  • Cherry
  • Ruby
  • Salsa
