Pig sneezing
« on: November 06, 2015, 10:36:15 am »
Good morning, I would like some advice please, I have a GOS gilt 14 months old who is hopefully in pig, I have noticed that she has started sneezing with a discharge coming from her nose, I did notice a sneeze last week but put it down to the fresh straw I had just put into the ark, she is now in a separate pen away from the others, she is eating well and all other bodily functions are normal.
Has anyone any ideas as to what maybe wrong.

Thanks

Was the straw dusty? That would make her sneeze and the discharge would probably be dirty. Is her breathing normal? If she seems well in herself it make be nothing to worry about but keep a close eye. This warm, wet weather isn't healthy.

I'd have a word with your vet. Pneumonia can be a problme this time of year and could quickly turn serious as her immune system dips coming up to farrowing.
