It will be a shame if something can't be done to save the dykes and the sheep.

North Ronaldsay sheep are also kept elsewhere in Orkney on tiny islands off the coast of the bigger islands where the sheep are the only occupants. Unfortunately this practice is in decline due to the farmers who own the islands no longer qualifying for grants to keep the islands as pasture.
