how can i get a chicken to adopt some new chicks
any help grateful of

you generally cant, the chances are she will peck at them and more than likely kill them! better to stick them either under a heat lamp or electric hen, harden off when fully feathered about 6 weeks. we dont introduce chicks to adult birds till they are about 3 months old.... and then its done with care.

The only way it is sometimes possible is if the hen is broody then you slip the freshy hatched chicks underneath her, but even then i wouldnt risk it

thanks well guess it serves me rite for pokin me nose in i found a hen under a bush was from next door but one and there moving so because of the badger set we found so close i couldnt leave her so decided to move but she was a bit strong for me and got away and i had to put eggs in the incubator then 2 days later she was back under the bush laying more eggs
