[Steph Hen]

I have too many birds. Not very man in numbers, but two breeds and only have one proper pen. I mostly have wheaten Marans and lavender Araucanas. Just a vague thought; if someone locally was thinking of getting some hens and had a pen and happy to look after them. I could provide birds and a hen house in return for occasionally putting a cockerel to them and getting the eggs for incubating. I can also provide wormer, etc.

You'd have to do all the care, cleaning out/shutting in at night, but get most of the eggs for yourself. (I'd probably only use about 8 weeks worth of eggs in the year). A suitable home would not have a cockerel in residence.

Just a thought. Suggestions or comments welcome!
