« on: March 19, 2010, 10:53:16 am »
hi folks, a wealth of information to be had on here for sure, which is much needed. funny how the theory is all perfect but practise is a bit hit and miss!!
acquired 3 north ronaldsays very recently and they are settling in lovely. one of them is very friendly and they all like buckets!
i haven't tipped them yet but hoping to soon  :-[
i'm in Stroud, nr Gloucester

Hi Spikey.  Just read your post.  I would love some north Ronaldsay sheep.  I don't suppose you acquired them from Adam's farm (Countryfile) did you?  With you living in Gloucs!!!  Is there a good commercial market for these lovely sheep or are you keeping them as pets or your own freezer?   I agree with your comment about practise being hit and miss - I've found that myself over the past five years - you never seem to know enough.  All the best.

i got mine from robinshill farm (rare breed). they are last years wethers. two come when called but the third is a runt and skittish and just tags along. got them really cheap and keeping them as lawnmowers.
been nearly butted once by the biggest but i take it he is settling in and sorting out the pecking order? hasn't tried today thankfully.
