I know some of you on here dont like suffolks, but as they say everyone to there own :) , just thought i would share a picture of my new ram with you, hes fert tested all ready to go for next weeks tupping.. :sheep:

 Well I like Suffolks and I think he's gorgeous. He looks just how a Suffolk should.
 When I was looking for a replacement ram a couple of years ago I couldn't believe how many "pedigree" rams were advertised with brown fluff on their heads and half way down their legs, and ears that pointed up! And their owners assured me that that is what a modern Suffolk looks like. :rant:

I remember Adam Henson was going to recreate the original Suffolk at Cotswold Farm Park a couple of years ago (Southdown + Norfolk Horn) but I didn't see a follow up on what it looked like.

I don't favor suffolks at all, but hes a handsome lad. :thumbsup:

Since the Norfolk Horn was lost and had to be recreated by 'reverse engineering' from the modern Suffolk, that all sounds a bit like a wormhole!  lol

Spinners up here were asked to spin the fleeces from the NHs and the Suffolks to assist the project.  However, the Norfolk Horn fleeces they were given were horrible, whereas I've since had Norfolk Horn fleece from other breeders that have been an utter delight.  In fact, it's one of my favourite fleeces.

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing
