Jackie, sorry to dissapoint  ;D Although I have seen quite a few baa lambs out in the hills today in Derbyshire and Cheshire.

Sandy, one of the first folk songs I learnt was an Irish drinking song called Juice of the Barley.

Cameldairy, hello and thanks for the welcome :)

What a lot of friendly welcomes!

hello and welcome from Derbyshire, I sing to my animals sometimes, especially the dog... she loves it (no human ever appreciates my atrocious singing!)

Thanks little blue :)

I spend a lot of time in Derbyshire, I'm at Cromford Mill on Sunday.

Our dog howls when I play the concertina, so I don't think she appreciates music as much as yours! The cows just shout for food when I sing to them.

Not shearing yet, it's a bit soon.

I'm demonstrating spinning in the wharf on the end of the canal with The Arkwright Spinsters.

Hi Philip and welcome from Warwickshire. I also spin, and have just had a spinning demo over the weekend.  Say hi to murmuring wheel from me  ;D

Hello sagehen,

Nice to hear from another spinner. Hope your demonstration went well.

I will say hi for you, but I'm sure she will be on here later anyway.

Thanks Philip. It went well, but there's always the odd kid who thinks it's fun to spin the wheel WHILE you're spinning grrrrr  >:( And there's no way to tell them off, so I grit my teeth and smile sweetly while muttering under my breath!!  ::)
