Help please- sick chick
« on: July 31, 2015, 08:10:59 am »
One of my chicks has started doing nasty poos with blood in. It's looking a bit hunched and miserable. Other four are fine. What could this be?

Thanks

Could it be coccidiosis? It will cause blood in faeces. I would call your vet about this I think.

coccidiosis, get to vet asap, the others will come down with it very quickly but you might save some if you treat fast. If thats what it is, they will need extra care in keeping them dry, clean and out of sudden temp changes as it brings their immune system very low.

Thanks all, got some cocci meds yesterday and the sick chick is eating and drinking, so we'll wait and see. Others all look perky.
