Incubation period for Indian Game eggs
« on: July 05, 2015, 09:19:31 pm »

I set 12 dark egg strain Cuckoo Maran eggs and 12 Indian Game eggs together in the same incubator at the same time. Of the 12 Cuckoo Marans eggs (home produced), 11 were candled fertile and all 11 hatched on day 21. Of the 12 Indian Game eggs (which incidentally were posted in polyboxes) 5 were candled as developing but none have even pipped on day 21.
Do Indian Game eggs take more than 21 days to incubate or have I been very unlucky once again with posted Indian Game eggs? I'll give them a few more days  :fc:, but I don't hold much hope for any live chicks  :(.

My indian game eggs take as long as any hens eggs but only hatched them with a broody not incubator.

Most strains of Indian Game are notorious for poor fertility.

Thank you.
3 Indian Game chicks hatched today (day 22), as yet there is no movement in the other 2.

I've had eggs hatch 3-4 days overdue recently. I often keep the incy running for a few days as my last 2 batches of eggs were hatching a few days apart.
