Started lambing in this bad weather a single and three sets of twins so far. Snow, sleet, rain and high winds just fantastic lambing weather have all mothers and lambs under shelter mostly in the stable and hay shelter all doing well. Having to keep a close eye on the rest in this bad weather and get the lambs inside asp as I cant house them till they lamb as my room is limited. This weather has to last till Friday. Summer time! I don't believe it.

We have got the Shropshire ewes inside.  Its going to be me and OH lambing them, so I do not fancy being up on the moor in a blizzard - its started snowing after being sleet and hailstone all day.  It always snows here at Easter, whether Easter falls early or late.  And always when eveyrone is lambing too.

My ex partner was a sheep farmer.  I never saw him for two or three weeks as he was in the fiels waiting for his lambs. He would pop down to the house as I came from work to say hello, usually drenched to the skin, and his hands .....goodness me, red raw.  I learnt never to ask how many lambs ......he never counted them until all were safely on the ground, something about bad luck to do so before.

Good luck with your lambing , and hope the weather comes good for you.
