Can a chicken coop be used as a duck house??

Yes I don't see why not. As long as the pop hole or doorway is big enough for the ducks to get in (as they can be big depending on what breed of ducks). It would make sense if its an easy shed to clean out, as ducks are messier than hens. I would think about removing roost/perches too. And as long as its big enough really.

Mine will just have a 7ftX5ft shed to share with the geese. As long as its dry, secure, easy to clean out and close to a compost heap (for all the straw and droppings) I don't think you'll go far wrong.

I'd also recommend fencing around it (doesn't have to be a huge area)

There are 2 reasons for this, firstly to keep the fox out (or atleast slow him/her down) and secondly you'll find it easier to get them away at night if you feed them morning and evening in their enclosure.

yup, my ducks live in a hen house. you have to adapt the ladder to make a flatter slope (if it's high up) they can easily climb, but other than that...if I'm lucky they even use the nesting boxes for the purpose they've been built, lol  :&>

My chicken coop is 6x3ft so this is ok for 6 silver appleyard
