In need of a kick up the ?????
« on: February 17, 2010, 03:09:52 pm »
Need NO advice just need to air my anger and being such a plonker AGAIN!!!!

MY FAULT 1.saying we could look after the pups after 8 weeks
MY FAULT 2 taking in guests that  make our life a bit more difficult as we are NOT ready
MY FAULT 3 Buying a washing machine without reading the agreement
MY FAULT 4 Not teling guests to leave dirty shoes in the hall
MY FAULT 5 Eating a bag of sports mix and a salmon sandwich when I am on a diet

Loving th e pups but we have turned several guests away as no catering facilities and the disorganisation problems of having pups, ie, noise, smell, the odd acident and the constant care of them. One man just turned up on SUnday, when we had guest with 2 babies so a bit of extra sick, mess pots etc and as he was sooo nice and had been before we took him and were not really ready, making the pups more of a problem, he pocked his head around the kitchen and stod in some pooo and trod it everywhere!! ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRH

Keeping back 2 is a minor problem as we stil have 2 of our own but seperating the pups freom the adults a lot of the time is a nightmare, especialy with guests who are also moving around the house. Ben rols all over our lounge and makes the beige carpet black and hairy, he sits on a chair that is now ripped and rifles my bag for sweets and letter......he is outside at this moment babysiting the pups.

THe pups = loads more mes and washing and the washing machine has broken after 10 mths, repair man was booked only to come out, se the B&B and said..NO, I looked up Laskeys and I did read no gaurentee for any type of comercial businesss ..so why did I not see that? Now have to wait for the manufacturer and they will probably say the same....arrrrrrrrrrrrhhhhh loads of dirty thingies!!!

DO know what, this keyboard misses out leters deliberatly ARRRRRRRRH

OK NOW PHEW!!!!!

Funny my remote keyboard on my main computor often misses letters unless you bash the key's, this keyboard however  is NOT against me but I just went to eat a rubber stopper that looked like a black sports sweet, a cuppa is in order!!!

Sandy - it's all right.  Come down and use my machine - I'll leave a note for Jenni and Denise tomorrow.
You've already got your dogs well organised - the pups could be out in the dog run full time now as it's warm enough there with the heat pad and the heater on, and Ben is fine with them, so he can be with them during the day.  You still need to keep Islay off the pups as they would suckle her, but you could take her to the front garden to wee etc - so long as you don't leave her in case someone opens the gate.
The occasional lapse of eating sweets won't harm you!
If you put the pups outside you can clean up the kitchen and start doing breakfasts again.  The kitchen should be out of bounds for guests anyway - H & S doesn't allow them in there And put up PRIVATE signs and put their fridge out in the hall like you were going to before.
Put up a notice about shoes by the front door!

Sorted!
So chill out!
See you when I get back after Monday! :-*
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

Are the dogs allowed in the kitchen for a B & B?

I know I wasnt allowed to feed mine or allow them free run in the kitchen when I was fostering cos they classed it as unhygenic.

Sandy you really are a miracle worker, running a B&B with the puppies.  I panic if we have visitors who are new to our house because Izzie and Digby are very into greeting strangers - can be a nightmare.

Sandy people think that we are daft running a business and having so many animals to look after but we do it because we want to and because we love it and you do it for these same reasons. Just think in not too long these puppy's you are keeping for people will soon be gone and you will be back to normal. Our washing machine is a household one too, we bought it because it is so much cheaper than the industrial ones - so if it breaks down you just buy a new one and still be quids in.

Keep smiling.

THanks, the pups in the kitchen is a H&S issue, never alowed the dogs in only a quick run in on occasions, but thats my point, we are not really open, the men who are here come throught the year, they come home around 8-9, have a shower and off to bed, there room is left clean, they are quiet and apart from the odd bit of muck like yesterday, you would hardly know they were there, the other man who came when I was entertaining relations, had been before and he just turned up Sunday night, he is still here and is a lovely man but I was put on the spot a bit, he has room only, no guests are expecting food!! I have turned away a lot of trade and also made it very clear that the kitchen is out of action but people still ask for plates, want o give me thier rubbish etc, there is a note on the door and they do knock, then they step in!!!!!! Anyway, soon over, they were out a while yesterday but it is getting cold again........If it were summer, no problem! I intend to redecorate the kitchen soon and it can have a good spring clean before Breakfasts start again...........Anyway, had a bad day yesterday and the house looked so gruby and with the nasty washing machine repair man comming, I wqas fuming, better day today!!!!! THANKS ALL
