Ectofly blow fly pour on
« on: May 05, 2015, 11:03:44 am »
last year i bought ectofly at 70 pound and used just a small amount as i only had 15 lambs back then. It says something like use within 28 days after opening. I sealed the threads of the bottle with plumbers tape and then wrapped cling film around the cap to provide a very tight seal. Do you think this would be ok to use again this year the fact air got into it?

I assume it wouldn't but i am just curious

Well if the manufacturer wont guarantee a products effectiveness after the use by date I don't think any of us are in a position to. So, no.

You don't have to be home, look it up on the NOAH Compendium online, it has data sheets for every drug going and is a very useful resource.

So you are going to throw away 50 quids worth of stuff that in all probability is still ok to use?

If you keep these things at normal room temperature out of light, I cannot see how it can disintegrate massively...

You normally have to be careful not to have freezing temps for any wormer/flukicide and  think also Crovect, and of course not too hot either.

Have you checked what the use-by date on the bottle is?

Or are you going to use it and if you get fly strike wish you hadn't???

Yes, check the use by and shelf life after opening, I couldn't see that on NOAH but maybe I didn't look in the right place.
