32 acre registered croft for sale
« on: April 29, 2015, 02:29:12 pm »
As there are often folk on here looking for land I thought this might be of interest. It's a great area to live as long as you can cope with wind and the folk are the best.

Uniquely situated in an idyllic elevated position, this is an opportunity to purchase a registered 32 acre croft of mixed grazing on the east Caithness coast which enjoys breath-taking picturesque panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, forestry and Moray Firth. The land is currently used as seasonal grazing and would be ideal for anyone interested in equestrian or farming pursuits.
As the land includes a derelict house and stone outbuildings, pre application advice from The Planning Authority would support an application for accommodation, all amenities are in close proximity and the access road leads direct to property.
The croft is eligible for applications to the Crofting Counties Agricultural Grants Scheme which gives assistance towards the costs of a number of agricultural operations such as agricultural buildings, fencing, land improvement and handling facilities. The croft may also be eligible to receive support under the Croft House Grant scheme. The land could also qualify for Basic Payment Scheme entitlements as well as entry to the newly opened Agri-Environment Climate Scheme, both of which could provide an additional income stream to the croft.
The site lies within 3 miles of the local village of Lybster and is 14 miles from the main town of Wick.
Offers over £70,000 are invited.

Can you clarify: has the local planning authority said that they'd support an application for restoring the old house or building a new one?

I'd love to see some photos..
