Aaargghh. Today I took a FEC into my vets as two of my four orphan lambs have started scouring.
They have just rang back with the report that my paddock has high levels of Cocci & round worm

The lambs are three months old and I wrongly presumed because I hadn't had any sheep on the paddock since October 2013 that they would be pretty safe.

. Guess I was wrong.
I have orally medicated them with Baycox & Cydectin LA and have to send in another FEC in two weeks time to see what the new levels are.
I am angry with myself as three of the lambs are still grazing and seem ok but the smallest of the four seems pretty bad today and isn't eating

.
So it looks like I am going to learn a lesson the hard way, and I will make sure I treat any new lambs before they go out into the paddock.
I am just posting here to see if there is any advice regarding this and if there are any tricks /tips for what I can do with this now contaminated pasture.
I have a few hens on this paddock too and I have never had much luck with them so maybe it is the cocci exposure that is causing it. Will now also look into getting them treat too.
Sad day today, feel like an utter failure.
