Possible split eyelid in Hebridean lamb?
« on: April 09, 2015, 11:38:58 pm »
Hi all
First post yay! Although I've been a lurker for a long time :)

We were handling our lambs and mothers the other day during breakfast.. (It's our first lambing season with the Hebrideans) we found this poor wee boy possibly nearly blind in one eye. He's about one week old. I know the hebrideans are susceptible to split eyelid, we don't have any four horns in our flock but they could easily carry the gene.

It looks to me like it's too far gone for a vet to do anything to save the eye but I thought I would ask your opinion. I'll be going to the vets tomorrow to show him the photo and ask his opinion too, but they are very laid back about most things..

Thanks!

Maddy
