Weaner with small abcess under eye
« on: April 01, 2015, 02:25:06 pm »
Hello all - after a bit of advice...

I have a lovely gilt weaner who is just over 8 weeks old. She has developed a small lump directly under her eye which is about the size of a marble. It doesn't seem to be bothering her. She will let me touch it - quite solid I think, but doesn't feel hot and not 'angry red'. Got some antiseptic cream on it today (it has appeared in last 24 hours) and assume it has been caused by the general rough and tumble of life with her brothers and sisters.
Is it a case of keeping an eye on it and seeing whether it dissipates on its own or should I be taking a different course of action?

Thanks
MarthaR
