Humidity
« on: April 02, 2015, 09:00:30 am »
I am wanting to set some CLB and maran eggs in the incubator but as we keep it down in the tack room where nothing can disturb it I am a bit concerned about humidity levels as we are getting a reading of 86% at the moment
Do you think I should just run it dry or wait until it warms up a bit

Well I switched the incubator on last night and running it dry to see what the humidity level is when it's running
Just checked and it's at 62% . I am guessing this is going to be too high ? :-\
It's always wet down here as just behind the stables there is a river running through our land

I would run it dry personally. I've just had a really good hatch by running dry. I monitored the humidity levels and at lockdown I filled one channel as we had a run of dry weather last week. I added some damp cloths after pipping due the fan in the Brinsea and had 14/16 hatch really easily.

Thanks by the end of the week I should have enough eggs to make it worth setting away so will see what happens
