laurel any good for burning?
« on: March 26, 2015, 03:26:46 pm »
hi

i thought i would ask you guys as its not on my woods to burn list :-)

is laurel (the nasty thuggy thing with bright green leaves) any good for log fires?

as i have a couple of older very woody specimens to remove and it would be a shame to waste the wood if its ok? and if its not ok i can't be bothered to log it all up!

thanks

Fine as long as it's properly seasoned. It contains cyanide which diminishes as it seasons - never burn it green in an enclosed space, or where you'll inhale smoke.
