Pesticides==Herbicides?
« on: March 21, 2015, 02:11:58 pm »
I've noticed a lot of courses available for training in spraying pesticides and taken no notice as I never use insecticides.

However, I do spray bracken. Are herbicides also covered by the new legislation in Scotland and will I need to attend one of these courses to use them?

Yes you will need to do the spray certificate.

Thanks,

Looks like the end of bracken control, then. It was already expensive enough to buy the Asulox. No way I can justify an extra £500 for the spray course.

Depending on the chemical distributor, folk may not be able to get chemicals e.g. glyphosate from them without providing a spray certificate.
I think more contractors will likely spring up as there will be business to be had.
