1st hen's egg
« on: January 22, 2010, 10:03:48 am »
I just want to share my joy, lol. After weeks without any duck eggs, one of the new hens must have enjoyed their first walk in the garden yesterday so much that she gifted me with a lovely wee egg this morning! I hadn't expected to get nearly as excited as when I had the first from a duck 2 years ago!  :chook: :&>

It's a lovely feeling, isn't it?  I managed to get the iced up gate open yesterday and found 7 eggs in a makeshift nest in the straw, then a few minutes later another one left lying outside!
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age
