Book I'm Really Enjoying

Yorkshire Shepherdess by Amanda Owen.  Sent for it after reading an article about her in the Farmer's Guardian.  Brought up in Huddersfield and ended up on a hill farm with a husband, seven children, a big flock of Swaledales and a life she's passionate about.  As a consequence I sent for Hill Shepherd, by John and Eliza Forder, which had inspired her.  Wonderful, evocative photographs - you can see why it had such a big effect.

I loved it too, I was a big fan of hers on 'The Dales'.  she's mad, but brilliant.

She has a really good Twitter feed too - @AmandaOwen8
Don't listen to the money men - they know the price of everything and the value of nothing

Live in a cohousing community with small farm for our own use.  Dairy cows (rearing their own calves for beef), pigs, sheep for meat and fleece, ducks and hens for eggs, veg and fruit growing
