40 inches round the body, just behind the front legs equates to a pig approx 85 kilos live weight .

Have just said this on another post but when we last weighed pigs we compared with a fearings weigh tape and it was within 5 kg of the weigh crate.

I have to say I go on eye and feel.

We never weigh or measure ours. Experience will tell me when a pig's ready along with assessing the condition of the animal. Condition is far more important than weight. I think people get far too taken in by "a porker is 70kg" etc.
