This year IS the year of the allotment.  Plants have been planted, potting shed is up (but needs fitting out) and when its drier allotment will be turned.  In the meantime I am removing stones....

I want to buy a parasene heater, my greenhouse (last years purchase) is 6 x 8..... can I just put parafin in, or is there a product called parasene?

I have the urge to get planting!

I think Parasene is the brand name, paraffin is the fuel.  We had one, still got it in fact, but it was dangerous because it repeatedly fell over, so choose your model carefully.

Great news you're getting on with the allotment.  Once you really get going you'll wonder how you ever lived without one.  We had allotments for years before we eventually moved up to the smallholding, but I still miss mine sometimes, especially the camaraderie, and others to discuss growing with

Yes, parasene is just a brand name, so it will use regular paraffin. I take it's a wick type burner, like this one?:
 

 
If so, you could also try running it on regular central heating oil (cheaper and easier to get hold of) - should work fine for a greenhouse.
