Hello from Verrue, central France
« on: May 02, 2008, 08:29:09 pm »
As my name suggests I am big into chickens. I breed gold and silver wyandotte bantams, silver spangled
hamburg bantams, black silkie bantams, japanese kyoto and golden pheasant. I also breed cream legbars as my
egg supplier.I am a member of a French poultry club so most of my focus is on showing my birds.
I also have a trio of Vietnamese pot bellied pigs and only yesterday the two sows gave birth to a total of 16
piglets. So plenty to keep me busy on my small smallholding.
Look forward to contributing to your forums.

 Bye for now

Bonjour and welcome  ;D
They don’t join cliques — more times than not, they stand alone — but they recognize and gravitate towards one another. Only warriors understand other warriors.

Move to Normandy! I just love the fancy chooks and you have some listed there that I would die for.

We have pot bellies amongst others - wonderful tasting meat.  We have just let some of the last litter go supposedly for meat, but when the lady came to collect hers she fell in love with her and now she is a family pet.  Her friend came the next day and took another one as a pet.  We have had litters for two years now and had no interest - this year people seem to just love them!

Looking forward to hearing lots more about your life in France and those lovely chooks!

Hi Paul and welcome,

We're starting work building a large chicken coop today. Looking to have about 20 birds for a mixture of eggs and 'meat' - any recommendations?

Look forward to hearing all your news....oh, and congrats on the piggies!  ;D
