ok i have worked out that above post was a case of i was a knobhead!
but i am confused by
'Is the destination a separation unit?'
'Moving animals to a Central Point Recording Centre (CPRC)'
'Is this within your business?'- i think this one is a yes as they are part of my flock and are being slaughtered for money?

also i am putting it down as a batch movement and now they want the flock/herd mark, as they weren't born on my holding or in my flock and thus don't have my flock mark on their tags do i put my flock number as that is what they are currently in or do i put the flock number they were born in?
Cheers Ed

Actually I've found the Scottish version to be pretty good online.

The only problem I had is that I thought that because I'd already registered movements online, I didn't have to send in the paper copies.  When I phoned them to apologise, they gave me a slap on the wrist and said I should have known that  :dunce: . I pointed out that this was like saying that even though I'd done an electronic bank transfer, I still had to send them in a cheque, so no wonder I was confused!  ;D .

'Is the destination a separation unit?'

No.  (If you don't know what a separation unit is - and I don't, either ;) - then it's a pretty safe bet that they're not going to one ;))

'Moving animals to a Central Point Recording Centre (CPRC)'

No.  This is where, for instance, batches of lambs are collected together to make up a wagonload, and where there is a tag-reading facility where the individual tag numbers can be read and recorded.

'Is this within your business?'- i think this one is a yes as they are part of my flock and are being slaughtered for money?

No.  At least, not unless you own the slaughterhouse as well ;).  You'd use this if you were moving sheep from a field on one of your holdings to a field on another holding that you also own.

I do the paper one (either the carbonised versions or one off the PDF version) and send it in the post.

I only use ARMAS to see if they're received it and what they think has happened on my CPHs.

Hey, and guess what, from January SPS applications have to be online on a new computer system that's going to replace Government Gateway, so everyone will have to both register for the new system and apply online.  Even if the new system is unproven.  Even if they have lousy or no broadband connection.  Even if they have lousy or no mobile signal.  What bright spark sitting in a nice, warm office in Whitehall thought that one up?!

A very forward thinking one! No doubt trying to make it hard to claim and therefore reduce the number of successful applications

I tried to use ARAMS at the weekend and encountered similar problems. After I had been shouting at the computer for half an hour OH thought he should intervene. :innocent:  He couldn't work it out either but did find a helpline number.    0844 573 0137.

To our surprise it was answered immediately by someone who was really understanding and helpful. It turns out that very few of the fields actually have to be completed. Also, the "Verify" field has been switched off at the server but has not yet been removed from the webpage. Within a couple of minutes we had completed the form and successfully submitted it. What a relief! :relief: . I can definitely recommend.

The abbatoir was really pleased as well because it made their admin work a lot quicker.

Im finding arams useless.
First it recognises my cph's, then it doesnt. Then I dont exist as a registered user, week later I exist again but one of my cph numbers is now coming up with the wrong address for it!

Are you still allowed to use the paper version? I bought a sheep recently and the lady said the paper version was fine. I checked on ARAMs today and the sheep is there.
