Wish my ex-batts had the sense!
They stood out in the snow until I enticed them back inside.
when I told o/h he reminded me that our other girls once chased hail stones round trying to eat them (think the noise was similar to corn falling through thier wire!)

Oh well, they'll be nice and cosy tonight with all that snow on the roof.

It's still falling here - a couple of inches lying now  :)

Our Seabrights have decided its time to live indoors too. The other chickens do come out if its not snowing, but the Seabrights won't even do that. They looked at me when I opened the door to look at them as if to say "what do you want- shut that door you're letting in the cold!"

Duck pond is frozen over and also waterer so I am putting out buckets of water, this morning the call duck was sitting in the bucket with chickens all round drinking the water.
One of my old hens was looking a bit miserable so went back out to check her later but she had died.

Mine aren't coming out either - I'm throwing corn down on the ground for them and the Jackdaws are hoovering it all up before the hens bother to get out and about.

Mine are all out at crack o sparras - Jamie makes sure his ladies are all up and dressed before dawn!  And the ducks only go in for a couple of hours before they come back out for another sparring match to see who is going to be Jack's mate ;) ;D
