You'll have your work cut out to keep that lot clean!  My five have their 4 foot by 4 foot pen enlarged out to half the kitchen every evening as well as various times during the day, and although I try to pick up the poos as they are done, if I just miss one it's all over the place, mixed up with the shredded paper, and the wees.  When I shut them back in with their supper I have to completely scrub and fumigate the kitchen floor.  God knows what 10 labs will be like - twice the poos, twice the wees, twice the size. ::) ::)  But not twice the energy of Brittanys ;).  This is most likely my last litter as I'm not breeding from Belle again and there isn't a bitch pup for me, but it's an absolute bind having them in the winter.  I'd never do it again.  It's the best time for working folk though, they can get them started early January and most of their training in the summer when its close season, a couple of working tests in the summer, then maybe get their first trial at a year old. Quite good for showing too as there's nothing much between now and 2nd May(they're 6 months then) except Crufts. I reckon my time is worth 50p an hour breeding pups, and no profit.
Always have been, always will be, a WYSIWYG - black is black, white is white - no grey in my life! But I'm mellowing in my old age

I am scared to say Gynty is doing ok as we are taking her back to the vet tomorrow. We have found a lump that moves around her throat area and she seems to be coughing strangely, hopefully we are being paranoid.

It's horrid worrying about pets, they are totaly dependant on us so that makes us feel more worried but in nature they would not be around so long or have such a good life....just enjoy now!!

Islay appears to be very happy having Ben around, Ben takes a peep at the pups and Islay is fine, he knows she is the boss so leaves them well alone only to take a sneaky peek occasionaly, I think he will love them when they are a bit older.....he is turing into a great dog, Steve said his recall is great now!! I am sure it's just the car that triggers off him not comming back. I can also see that some of the pups eyes are begining to open and hear a little bark occasionaly.

Nearly time for worming urh!!!! ALL pups have at least doubled thier birth weight, ones weight dropped a bit today and she was winging a little last night so hope she is not ill, she looks OK, not too thin just a bit sleepy, not surpriing, although I even got a good nights sleep last night. We are monitering the pups feeding and thier eyes appear to be cracking open a bit, you can see better with the yellow pups, the black ones are less defined. Isaly is eating HUGE amounts, I will get some more puppy food tomorrow just in case it gets hard to out. More enquiries last night and I am in the process of registering them with the Kennel Club, I have all the names ready and am pleased, fingers crossed they are all doing well, we will speak to the vet and get those worming potions.....
