Not a smallholder, accidental or otherwise - my parents "escaped" from the ones they grew up on and I've spent the last 10 yrs saving and planning for the day when I can go "back to my roots".

5 year plan is to move down to the west country, at the moment  I'm living vicariously on this type of forum and supporting small producers who are able to sell me the quality of meat etc that I grew up eating  :)

Welcome from me in Clackmannan...I know what you mean, my father in Law and my ex's side of the family were farmers, my Ex showed no interest whatsoever but his brother loves it, alas none are farming now.....I was attracted to my Ex when I was 15 as he was a farmers son but there the fantasy ended!! My middle daughter in on here too, she has animals and veg in her blood.....(think I have Scotland in mine as I love Scotch, Haggis and Irun Bru) great way of life if it's not your only form of income!!!
