abattoirs in or around carmarthenshire? recommendations?
« on: September 29, 2014, 09:41:56 pm »
well my Ram lamb is coming up to weight and just waiting on the hold-off of the wormer I gave him - so I guess I need to book him in somewhere.

Any recommendations for this area? (or, given Rosemarys experience, any recommendations which to avoid?)

We took our first two pigs to Neil at Tregaron and will be taking our next two in the near future.

We were very happy with the way things are done there and the level of service.

I think a few others around these parts go there too.

He's happy for you to go and have a look around first and ask questions too if that helps.

Don't have the contact details to hand but we googled it initially.

Marcus, we take pigs and sheep to Neil. In fact have 3 lambs going next Monday. They are only a small operation and obviously have a good reputation she he does get booked up. I try to ring about a month beforehand just to make sure I can get in when I want to.

He also recognises that smallholders get very attached to their animals and treats us gently  :)
