I've been wanting a Sarracenia - insectivorous pitcher plant - for ages. I thought it would help with the flies in the kitchen. So I bought one last week, then discovered it needs to live outside, in a boggy bit. Currently it's still in its pot next to the front door, hardening off, as I suspect it's been kept indoors in a nursery all its life.
We peeped down some of the tubes and were amazed to find them about 3/4 stuffed with insects, including a live wasp and endless flies, large and small. I wonder if it's like with sheep and it will get bloat from overindulgence

We're listening out for the groans and burps
