I am going away at Christmas this year to Thailand and all my animals are covered except my goats. I have them with 2 donkeys and the donkeys will be moving to a friends place with her donkeys and my last resort is the goats stay at the field and my dad looks after them but I would much prefer that the goats go with someone of goaty knowledge and other goats ideally so they can socialise in the herd and have fun too.

I have a wether Nubian called Hector (no horns) He's an OAP goat and very lovely and then a doe Nubian (with horns) who is a cheeky character but still lovely, She's around 6 years and Hector I'm not sure on age but he creeks a lot lol. I am going on December 5th and coming home January 5th 2015! I can provide their hard feed for the month plus some more for your goats. I can drop them off and collect them too. I was hoping just to cover their feed and travel as like the donkeys with my friend but I know this is a big ask.

I just want peace of mind that they are will a knowledgeable person as lovely as my dad is he wouldn't recognise if one wasn't looking quite right and during winter this is something you need to be extra vigilant about. Hector does get snotty and may require his coat from time to time.

If you can help please message me and we'll arrange for you to come round and meet them

[/You will not be dumped with 2 goats and will have all my numbers and information and vice versa. b]

I can vouch for Kym's goats being lovely (as is Kym).  I would have them, but mine don't have horns and my Heidi is quite a madam.  If there were any major issues I will be a backup.

What a great response! Thank you! Clive - Its a two hour drive but if we get stuck near the time well looks like we'll be having a road trip. I like the sound of them mingling with a large herd even if it is sheep. Your so kind and I will keep you in mind for sure. Might mean their with you a little longer as we'd have to arrange a few days each way around those dates of us going to travel up to you. Silly question but do you mingle with your sheep? the goats are very friendly and just in case you didn't see - are you happy that Eva has horns? We could tape them if it was a worry for you. :goat:

yeah we mingle- we've got 7 ewes (the lambs should be gone by then) and they've all got names and are pretty tame. they're Wiltshire horns so got their own horns. when we had goats here a couple of years ago the wether was a bit of a bully and used to chase the sheep around so we ended up separating them. the goats were sposed to be bramble clearers but they didn't seem to know what a bramble was so we ended up rehoming them. as  I said very much last resort sue to distance but let us know nearer the time cheers

Aw good. They would love it still I'm sure. He always makes a beeline to me when I arrive to say hello. So I'm glad you get in with them. He's not a bully but he gives as good as he gets from Eva who has the horns. These guys love everything in my field which is why I no longer am able to make blackberry jam. We will see, your a star!!

Anyone else?
