Boreray sheep wanted
« on: August 24, 2014, 07:46:22 am »
Hopefully l am picking up some Southdown sheep from Herefordshire soon, a farmer friend up here is looking for Boreray ewes or lambs. He has one of my Boreray ram lambs and hopes  to breed. He would prefer RBST  registered sheep.
If anyone knows of any that could be collected  with mine that would be great.
They are as rare as hens teeth up here.  :fc: Any input gratefully received.

The obvious person to ask is Julie Suffolk, the contact with the Soay and Boreray Sheep Soc.   She keeps quite a few Boreray herself, but I don't know if she has any left.  She is likely to know someone else with some for sale though, so she's a good start. Julie.Suffolk@btinternet.com       I would imagine there's a fair amount of necessary inbreeding in Borerays because of the very low numbers, so it's worth seeking stock as genetically distant as possible.  Julie lives a bit south of Manchester.
