Ryeland sheep advice
« on: August 21, 2014, 08:11:58 pm »
After loosing our pet sheep and goats during the foot and mouth we have finally decided to get some more, this time we plan to get a few ewes and a tup to breed a few lambs each year for the table.
We are thinking of getting some Ryelands, having never reared for meat before, is this breed a good choice?
We want something friendly and easy to handle plus with tasty meat.
I have seen some pedigree Ryelands for sale for between £120 - £160 each. Is this a reasonable price?

Thank you!
