I have a sheep who got fly strike a little while ago and still has a small wound on her side that the flies will not leave alone so it is very slow to heal. So i was wondering if any of you have any advice on what best to put on to keep the flies off to allow it to heal?

There are a variety of things available, but I still find good old fashioned tar the best.  If there is any sign of infection, this would need treating first, though.

sudocreme is a good sticky barrier that lasts well. i also use "wondergel" which is teatree oil and is good on skin. or good old green oils gel if its still around?

I have been trying sudocrem but going to get some antibiotics from the vets tomorrow now too. As for the tar do you put it around on actually on the fleshy bit?

I have used straight neem oil on healing fly strike sores quite succesfully this year. The skin grew back sound very quickly. Also used sudocrem as a thick top layer straight after cleaning the strike.

Yes slap it on   Re-apply as necessary.  It has antiseptic qualities as well as being a fly deterrent.
It will make you smell lovely ... for days   (two pairs of disposable gloves advised if you are apply by hand!)

agree with bramblecot ... yellow cream which I think is just called 'summer fly cream' - you should be able to get it from any farm supplies place
